This work is in the entry way of Horace Mann elementary school. It is based on movement patterns in the Gulf and Jet Streams over the continental United States that largely dictate weather in the Mid-Atlantic region. The directional flow of the work is constructed using a mosaic of wood reclaimed from the construction site during renovation including cherry from a tree that had to be cut down where the new entrance now stands. This reclaimed wood was combined with wood scraps collected and donated by parents, alumni, teachers and community members, giving the users of the building both ownership, memory and identity tied to the artwork and the site.
